About
Analytics for the businesses the big tools forgot.
MetriXs is a privacy-first web analytics service, founded and built by David Hildering and based in the Netherlands. It exists for a simple reason: the tools I wanted to use were too expensive for the kind of sites I was running, and packed with features I never touched.
Why MetriXs
I was paying for features I never used.
Before MetriXs, I ran Simple Analytics and Plausible for a while on a handful of small business sites, the kind that see somewhere between 100 and 1,200 visits a day. I liked them. Both take privacy seriously, both avoid cookies, and both keep the dashboard calm. The cookieless, EU-hosted approach is exactly what I wanted.
But over time two things bothered me, and they're related. The first is the obvious one: the dashboards kept growing features I never touched, and I was effectively subsidising a feature set aimed at a bigger team with a different kind of business.
The second hit harder. Even on the basic subscription, the price climbed quickly the moment a site crossed 10,000 visitors a month. The pricing is tied to traffic tiers, so a decent month, a post that lands somewhere, a seasonal peak, could push you into a higher band overnight. For a small business site doing a few hundred to a thousand visits a day, you're nowhere near needing enterprise features, yet you're suddenly paying for them because the calendar rolled over.
You don't need forty reports, layered funnels, or enterprise segmentation to understand a site that size. You need to know how many people visited, where they came from, and what they read. You need it without a cookie banner, without sending visitor data outside the EU, and without a bill that jumps every time traffic does well.
So I built MetriXs, the tool I wished had existed when I was overpaying for ones I underused.
Who it's for
Built for small and medium businesses. Not enterprise.
MetriXs is built for small and medium-sized businesses, the shops, blogs, agencies, and side projects that want straightforward numbers without the overhead of enterprise tooling. It's priced for sites that measure their traffic in the hundreds and thousands, not the millions, and it's focused enough that a team can look at the dashboard and understand it in ten seconds.
It's deliberately not built for enterprise. That isn't a limitation we're apologising for, it's the point. A large corporation with complex funnels, multi-property roll-ups, and a dedicated analytics team will almost certainly need more than MetriXs offers. They're welcome to use it for what it is, but the roadmap isn't chasing them. Every feature has to earn its place for the smaller business that just wants the numbers.
Built and hosted in Europe
Privacy by default, not as an upgrade.
MetriXs is based in the Netherlands and hosted on infrastructure in Germany, with no US edge provider in the path between your visitors and the origin. No cookies, no stored IP addresses, no consent banner to maintain, just a daily-salted hash that resets at midnight and a dashboard that loads fast.
If you want the details, the GDPR & Compliance page explains the controller/processor split, and the visitor data policy covers exactly how a visitor is identified. Or skip straight to the pricing and start a free trial.
